Artist statement

My work attempts to capture the realm of memories and fantasies. I use a combination of digital and traditional media, incorporating hand-drawn and stop motion animation, printmaking, drawing, painting, and digital illustration. I’m interested in the place that memories, dreams, and fantasies hold in our perception of ourselves, each other, and the world, and the way these internal fictions reflect externally. My practice is rooted in storytelling, and I see entertainment media as an opportunity to connect on an emotional level with a broad audience via storytelling. My work often straddles the line between fine art and art as entertainment.
